About Ms. Dalton

Cynthia Dalton, DNP, FNP-BC, began her medical career as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), driven by a passion for helping others in times of illness. This experience sparked a love for science and medicine, motivating her to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Winston Salem State University (WSSU) in 2002. Cynthia's teaching role at WSSU inspired her to earn a Master's degree as an Adult Nurse Educator in 2009, followed by a post-master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Over 21 years at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, Cynthia has cared for trauma patients, served as a nurse educator, and worked as a house supervisor. Her dedication to patient care led her to earn a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2017. Cynthia values respect, empathy, compassion, accountability, and open communication in her work. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her five grandchildren, coaching cheerleading, playing sports, and playing bass guitar at her local church.
